About The Tivoli

Built in 1917 and restored in Art Deco style, this elegant, fully licensed theatre has state-of-the-art technical features, top-of-the-range facilities, in-house catering by our 5 star chef and dedicated staff available to meet all your needs.

Age Restrictions

General Admission Standing - Over 18s Only.

An ALL STANDING event for over 18s only. NO ID, NO ENTRY. Acceptable forms of ID are Passport, Drivers License or 18+ Card.

Reserved/General Admission Seating - Under 18s Must Be Accompanied By A Parent/Guardian.

An ALL SEATED theatre-style event. Under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Operating Hours

The Box Office operating hours are 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday.

Parking

There is plenty of on-street parking available on Costin Street and Gregory Terrace. The Tivoli car-park is reserved for staff and artist use only.

Public Transport

Easy access by train to Brunswick Street Station, by bus to Fortitude Valley and three carparks accommodating over 2000 vehicles.

Technical Specificiations

The art deco style Auditorium with mezzanine holds 1,500 standing or 700 seated patrons. The Tivoli Theatre is renown for its great warm sound and consistent production standard. The Tivoli staff endeavours to make our venue one of the highlights of your tour.

Due to sound restrictions Monday to Friday sound checks must commence from 5pm. FOH sound level must not exceed 110DB C weight. Monitor and stage check from 12 noon.

Access

Please let us know one week prior to your arrival to arrange Load in time LOAD IN 12:00 midday onwards

At the end of the car park is the loading dock it is 1.2m high and 2.3m wide. Your crew will need to push your gear up a 3m ramp to the stage doors.They open 2.3 wide x 2m high on to a landing 3.6m wide and 3m deep. Twelve 2.4m wide stairs are joined to the landing.

Taller items can be brought in via the front doors on Costin st. (2.4m high x 2.7m wide).

The Tivoli has a Johnston Audio Services' installed PA. The Tivoli can provide good competent operators for both FOH and Monitors. All our operators have extensive national and/or international touring experience.

The Tivoli has an extensive audiovisual system, including a projector and screen, available for backdrop video, large-screen on-stage presentation or for projection onto the white cyclorama. This equipment is available for hire by the Client for $550.00 per event. Contact the Technical Department prior to your event with your requirements.

Dressing Rooms

We have two dressing rooms and one production office.

Large room upstairs (the green room) has two living areas, a kitchen and a toilet. Adjoining the green room is the production office accommodating two desks.

Smaller room downstairs has good make-up lighting with mirrors and a separate toilet and shower adjacent.

Lighting

Flown via 14 Fly bars.

There is a 4 colour front and back wash, 4 colour cyc, numerous profiles for specials, Smoke machine and hazer.

The house can provide a good, competent lighting operator who will design and focus a lightshow specifically tailored for each act.

Passes

The Tivoli does not supply laminates/stickers for security ID. Please ensure your artist and crew carry their laminates at all times. We are happy for your TM to use our photocopier to make a laminate check sheet for the security personnel at the backstage/auditorium door.
