A Great Big World

General Admission standing 18+

Before releasing their debut album and within a year of forming, A Great Big World had appeared in the top 10 in 19 different countries with their smash hit 'Say Something’. Having met in the crowded practice rooms of NYU as students - fostering dreams of writing and performing on Broadway - vocalist Ian Axel and writer Chad Vaccarino recognized a compatible talent in each other and began a dynamic partnership, focusing on piano-driven pop and presenting a warm, engaging onstage persona with touches of theatrics, echoing the likes of Simon and Garfunkel, Elton John and energetic pop group, fun.

Playing during So You Think You Can Dance, that track exposed them to a greater audience than ever before, including five-time Grammy Award winner, Christina Aguilera - one of the most accomplished performers of the last decade. Like all who hear this emotive track, she was deeply moved and requested to work with the duo to re-release the song as a collaboration, taking it to new levels.

This epic track has been televised on prime time shows The Voice, The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and at The American Music Awards, going platinum and hitting number 1 in the US on iTunes, Billboard’s Digital Songs chart, Spotify and Shazam and dominated charts worldwide, including Australia where it peaked at number 1 and has remained in the charts for 12 weeks running.

In January of this year, A Great Big World released their full-length debut album Is There Anybody Out There? to global critical acclaim and a number 1 on iTunes and entering the US Billboard’s Top 200 charts at number 3.

Don’t miss these incredible musicians as they bring their infectious hooks and harmonies back to Australia this August.
